Sewing Outing

Two posts, one week...who would think it :)

On Tuesday I was able to join in the mini-meet from Miss Celie's Pants on a quick outing to the warehouse sale at Fashions Unlimited. I was very restrained (I have too many UFOs and not enough room in my house for much), but at those prices, really needn't be! For just $13 I scored a bag full of goodies to play with.

First, some laces, the motivating factor for our organizer, and I succumbed to the pretties myself. I am inspired to try this whole making lingerie thing. I got these wide ones, and a narrow black one.

The thicker cream lace will be lovely on a vintage slip.... I have some decadently soft silky fabric I picked up on the clearance racks at G Street a few years ago and this very simple but pretty vintage slip pattern I haven't used more than once (for someone else). I think making a fitted bodice insert of lace might be just the ticket.

Also grabbed a few remnants, just for fun. The pink stretch lace would suite lingerie as well. I have no plans for the little piece of gold--looks cropped off the bottom of a dress or blouse! But it is so lovely, I am sure I can find something to do with it.

And finally, hooks and eyes. They unfortunately didn't have the eyes on the organza trim, but I grabbed some sturdy ones. I'm willing to mix and match or purchase mates at a less-discounted price somewhere else.

Much fun was had! Still holding out for a trip out to Standham Corp to stock up on notions in the near future, too :)
