Life happens...

Obviously I failed pretty much ALL of my goals for MMM... and at blogging in general. But I suppose that was expected. I did do a decent amount of sewing through the end of May and into June, but pretty much all of it was on the runners for G's wedding--I wish I had taken pictures of the beautiful pile of fabric from India I was getting to work with! Nothing else, really, has happened on the sewing front, largely due to the above runners, cleaning, and then some much needed vacation (although I did wear my Collette blouse for several outings, so something me-made was worn!).

I'm considering taking a pause on the shop. Not a real one, but not doing any more major sewing for it for a little while. I do have a few aprons and another toddler set cut out, so if I find some time in the next few weeks to finish them, there's that. I will probably let some of the notion listings expire, although I will keep renewed clothing and other things of vintage interest.Once I'm sourcing more for shows in the fall, I will have time to find some more vintage pieces to post! I just need to not invest more money into it until I have the time to make it pay off.

Personal sewing is still the catch-22... I need more clothes and to alter what I have desperately. But after a 6-week plateau, I am back to steadily losing weight, with my personal goal actually in sight (yikes!). I think there will be a hold until at least the fall on too many new pieces. I am a little shocked and very excited to be making progress. Luckily, while not sewing, my dedication to thrift shops has paid off in some very affordable and eco (as in second hand) options to keep my wardrobe from being completely bereft.

Although I did spot this adorable homemade vintage dress in Los Angeles that I intend to use as inspiration in the future (apologies for the bad phone photo):

And was almost lured by some adorable fish print cotton at Mood that would make great pajamas....

But I was restrained and will hopefully find something equally cute when time and budget allow for more fabric purchases.

Besides that, shows are gearing up! Meetings start next week for my first Single Carrot project, and it should be EPIC. After that, I get to do Earnest for Loyola. Really looking forward to that one!

After hearing about an amazing sewing supply source I somehow overlooked for ages via Spinstah's link to Miss Celie, I am stoked to get my machine serviced before fall and hopefully load up on some major basics at Standham. I feel it will be an amazing but dangerous adventure! Score on finding a great local source for stock notions at such a deal!
